What Is Self Esteem, And What Are The Causes Of Low Self Esteem?

What is self esteem? To Esteem means to admire and respect - to value highly. Self esteem is self respect, appreciation, and self worth. Having self esteem means that you approve of yourself.

Do you ever compare yourself to others, and think you aren't as good as they are -- in some way or another?...

....Real self esteem comes from self knowledge, and confidence -- not how you measure up in comparison to others. Comparing is only going to tell you what you aren't...

...as pretty as, as ugly as, as smart as, or as dumb as etc. -- just a bunch of opinions that come from your own personal belief system...

...These opinions change as your physical body, and the other material aspects of your life changes, as well, however real self esteem isn't something that is affected by what goes on in your outer world.

A healthy self esteem develops when you discover your own special, and unique self. And, that's something that can never be compared.

It comes from discovering who you are, and finding your own unique path in life. Knowing you are here with your own special lessons to learn, and gifts to share -- as all of us are...

...And rising above the competitive, and fear based beliefs that we formed during childhood -- which are the real causes of low self esteem.

When you have a deep down knowing of who you are, and confidence in your goals, nothing anyone says or does to you can really do much to change that.
